| Jon Ahrendsen, MD, received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Iowa in 1978 and 1982. He completed his residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. Dr. Ahrendsen has been with WMC since 1985. He was the family practice representative for the Iowa Lactation Task Force from 1995-1999. He is a Medical Associate of La Leche League International, a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner, a DAN (Defeat Autism Now) physician, the Medical Director of Wright County Hospice and the Wright County Medical Examiner. In 2000, Dr. Ahrendsen took a ten month working sabbatical at the Ceduna-Konniba Aboriginal Health Clinic in South Austtralia. He also went to La Paz Mexico and took an 8-week Medical Immersion "Spanish Course" to help him with the language barrier of our Hispanic patients. He is board certified with the American Board of Family Practice, is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Iowa and helps to train third year medical students.
Dr. Ahrendsen has a wife, Becky, and 3 children and lives in Clarion. He has a special fondness for bison and actually owns some. His professional interests include the evaluation and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He is on the board of directors of the Clarion-Goldfield Sports Boosters and the president of First Lutheran Church. | | | |  | Dave Anderson, CRNA, MS, received his Master of Science from Saint Mary's University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He then completed his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center, also in Minneapolis. Before joining Wright Medical Center in 2009, Dave worked at three other healthcare facilities. He is also retired from the Army National Guard and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Dave and his wife, Jill, have three daughters: Megan and twins, Laura anc Claire. In his free time, he enjoys reading and golf, but his biggest enjoyment is cheering on his girls in their sporting activities. | | | |  | Stacey Cayler, RN, BA, CDE, CPT, graduated from Mercy School of Health Sciences in Des Moines and Simpson College in Indianola. Her background includes experience in coronary care and started working in diabetes education in 1995. She has been a Certified Diabetes Educator and Certified Pump Trainer since 1998. She was previously the diabetes educator, program coordinator and clinical trial coordinator at Diagnostic and Critical Care Medicine/Diabetes Center in Des Moines. Stacey joined Wright Medical Center in January 2009 to start the diabetes education program which is now State of Iowa certified and nationally recognized by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE).
Stacey has clinical interests in insulin management, insulin pump therapy and glucose sensor technology. She is a member of AADE, ADA and the Arthritis Foundation.
Stacey lives in Clarion with her husband Rob and two children, Hannah and Lucas. | | | |  | Tim Fink, DO, is one of the two Radiologists on staff for Wright Medical Center. He graduated in 1988 from the Michigan State University in Osteopathic Medicine. His rotating internship was at Oakland General Hospital from 1988-1989 in Madison Heights, WI. In 1993, he completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Oakland General Hospital. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology – Diagnostic Radiology. He joined WMC in 1997 and has special interests in mammography, interventional radiology and musculoskeletal MRI. Dr. Fink is married and has four children, a son and three daughters. He is very active in his local church and in his free time enjoys hunting, vegetable gardening, shooting sports, traveling, Christian contemporary music and above all his family. Dr. Fink says he is fortunate and blessed to work for Wright Medical Center. | | | |  | Vinnette Frank, PA-C, worked as an Emergency Medical Technician III in rural Alaska for 11 years. At that time she decided to become a physician assistant and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rocky Mountain college in Billings, Montana. Vinny is the Emergency Room Supervisor at Wright Medical Center and joined the staff in 2002.
Vinny has lived in such faraway places as Alaska, Montana, Texas and Oregon. Vinny received the Service Excellence Steering Committee's "Helmsman" award - a helmsman according to the dictionary is the person who steers the ship. Over the past couple of years, Vinny not only had the best patient satisfaction scores in the nation for her department (ER), but lead Wright Medical Center to be the example in the state of Iowa for a rural community that does things right.
Vinny is married, has 3 children and 4 very precious grandchildren. | | | |  | Daniel M. Gabrielson, DO, received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Des Moines University, his B.A. from Central College and did his OB/GYN residency and internship at Midwestern University in Chicago. He is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Gabrielson has clinical interests in pelvic prolapse, incontinence, high risk obstetrics and all gynecological surgery. He holds clinics in Clarion, Webster City and Humboldt and appointments can be made by calling the WMC Specialty Clinic.
Dr. Gabrielson has a wife, Lyndi, two sons and two daughters. He enjoys golf and wrestling and was even a high school state wrestling champion! Dr. Gabrielson really enjoys seeing the positive life changing outcomes of surgical interventions. |  | Tom Getta, MD, FACOG, OB/GYN,is a Fellow with the American College of Obstetritians and Gynecologists and works at The Gabrielson Clinic for Women. Dr. Getta is available to help with the following services related to women's health: infertility management, menopausal issues, preconception counseling, prenatal care, in conjuction with Dr. Gabrielson, postpartum care, annual exams including pap smears, health and wellness counseling, contraceptive care, STD screening and follow-up care, evaluation and treatment of common infections, care before and after menopause, hormone replacement therapy, screening and referral for other health problems, osteoporosis management, and urinary incontinence. Gynecological surgeries in conjuction with Dr. Gabrielson include hysterectomies, ovarian, cesarean sections, vaginal reconstruction, endometrial ablation and bladder repair. |  | Krista Hartwig, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and has been a Registered Nurse since 1999. Krista works in collaboration with Dr. Gabrielson for all services related to women's health including: physical exams, pap smears, health and wellness counseling, contraceptive care, care before and after menopause and much more.
Krista and her husband, Brad, have two children. She enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with her family. | | | |  | Dean Heideman, CRNA, graduated from the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Texas Wesleyan University in 2006. He completed his residencey at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Dean is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and worked at two other healthcare facilities in Kansas before joining Wright Medical Center in 2009.
Dean and his wife, Kami, have four children: Brynn, Wyatt, Bridget and Rhett. Jeff is married to Marlene McNamara. They have three children. They love reading, movies, camping, animals and family. | | | |  | Emile C. Li, MD, received his Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude) and Doctor of Medicine at the Creighton University School of Medicine. He did his general surgery residency at Yale University and the Waterbury Hospital Health Center in Waterbury Connecticut. He performed his Orthopaedic surgery residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York. His fellowship in joint replacement and sports medicine was completed at The Center for Hip & Knee Surgery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Li is a Fellow for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a Dipolmaat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. He is also a member of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Iowa Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Li has clinical interests in hip, knee, and shoulder reconstruction, sports medicine and carpal tunnel. | | | |  | Matt Moritz, PA-C, received his P.A. degree from the University of Osteopathic Medical Center, 2001, in Des Moines. He received his B.S. degree from South Dakota State University and Athletic Training in 1997 from Brookings, South Dakota. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the National Association of Athletic Trainers and the Iowa Athletic Trainers Society. Matt enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, hunting, being outdoors and being a Certified Athletic Trainer. Dr. Nagel has been with Wright Medical Center since 1987. He is an avid runner and has a professional interest in sports medicine and also takes OB patients. Dr. Nagel has run several marathons including the Boston Marathon and also trained for another in Disney World where he takes his family on vacation every 4-5 years. Dr. Nagel met his wife Denise of 26 years in high school and they currently have 9 children and live on a farm north of Clarion. They own a second home in Estes Park, Colorado. Dr Nagel is an active member of the Clarion-Goldfield school board. | | | |  | Tonia Odden, PA-C, has been with the Wright Medical Center Family Practice Clinic since October 2003. In that time, she has taken an interest in diabetes care and education and has attended several seminars and symposiums. Tonia continues to work with asthma and allergy education, hormone imbalance, breastfeeding and has a background in sports medicine. Because of this interest, Tonia has done many sports physicals for the Junior High and High School athletes and continues to welcome them into her practice. Tonia takes pride in educating her patients regarding their own personal health issues, prevention and wellness.
On a personal level, Tonia is the mother of four young boys: Kaleb, Kegan, Konnor and Kolbe. With fours boys, Tonia can relate to many young mothers and the responsibility of balancing family and career. As she will attest to, her busband Neal is a "wonderful husband and father". Neal is very versatile and can design and build almost anything. For family time, they enjoy sports, camping and traveling. Tonia enjoys playing on an adult volleyball league and coaching her sons. Both Tonia and her husband come from family farm backgrounds and have lived in small towns, making Clarion seem like home. | | | |  | Mark Palit, MD, orthopaedic surgeon, received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and did his residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City. He then completed a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery at The San Francisco Spine Institute and Senton Medical Center in California. He practiced spinal surgery in Fort Dodge from 1995 - 2005 and then joined Benton Franklin Orthopaedic Associates, PLLC in Washington State. Dr. Palit has professional interests in spinal surgery, sports medicine and general orthopaedics.
On a personal note, Dr. Palit enjoys sports activities, hunting, fishing, trap and skeet shooting, reading and has interests in world history and foreign languages. | | | |  | Greg Pekkala, CRNA, graduated with honors from UW Milwaukee School of Nursing in 1987. He then graduated from St. Frances/UW Lacrosse School of Anesthesia in 1992. Greg is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the American Academy of Pain Management. He is also retired from the US Army Reserves, having served from 1980 – 2002. Greg has special interests in pain management for spine, joint and neurogenic pain. | | | |  | Bhoompally Reddy, MD, FACS, general surgeon, graduated from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India, completed his fellowship in general surgery in England, UK and completed his general surgery residency at Easton Hospital, Easton, Pennsylvania. After his residency, he worked as a general and trauma surgeon at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA and Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, PA before joining Wright Medical Center. In October of 2009, Dr. Reddy was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Reddy and his wife, Sudha, have two children, Shiva and Shipa. | | | |  | Monica Siemens, PA-C, completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids in 1987. She completed the Physician Assistant program at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines in 1993. She joined the Clinic in 1993 and is NCCPA Board Certified in Primary Care and Surgery.
Monica has been with the WMC family Practice Clinic since 1993 as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C). She is knowledgeable about all aspects of family practice and especially enjoys doing women's health care... from young women through seniors. She has been to continuing education classes on bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Monica also finds skin care and dermatological conditions interesting. She frequently works in the Emergency Department at Wright Medical Center and Belmond Medical Center. She also makes rounds at a local care center, caring for seniors through the end of life. She is on the Wright County Public Health Department Advisory Board and Infection Control Committee at WMC. She participates yearly in the 'Girl Talk' program.
Monica is married to Ron Siemens. She is a board member in the Wright County Humane Society. She enjoys biking, swimming, music and dogs, and is active in her church. | | | |  | Adriana Sikyta, MPAS, PA-C, received her BS in Health Sciences and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.

A graduate of Grinnell College and the University of Iowa College of Medicine, he completed his family practice residency at Mercy/Mayo Family Practice Residency, Des Moines. He served as Chief Resident in 1997-98.
Dustin joined the Wright Medical Center staff in 2000. He is board certified with the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Medical Association, the Iowa Medical Society, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Smith covers call and provides ER coverage at the Wright Medical Center.
Dr. Smith lives with his wife and son in Eagle Grove. | | | |  | Annette Snyder, MS, RD, LD, is a registered dietitian and has been with Wright Medical Center since 2008. Raised on a Minnesota dairy farm, she has a special appreciation for the rural lifestyle in and around Clarion. Annette attended South Dakota State University, where she received her bachelor's degree in dietetics in 2001 and her master's degree in nutrition in 2003. Her internship was spend at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. She has been practicing as a dietitian since 2004 and is a member of the American Dietetic Association.
Annette has professional interests in diabetes, community nutrition and osteoporosis. She also does nutrition counseling for weight management and other special needs like food allergies, heart disease and celiac disease.
Annette lives in Clarion with her husband Luke, son Liam, and dog Jax. Annette enjoys reading, taking walks, and visiting with family and friends. | | | |  | Amanda Tew, DO, is a Clarion native. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Biology. She attended Medical School at Des Moines University in Des Moines. Her family practice residency was completed in Waterloo, Iowa at the Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation.
Dr. Tew has clinical interests in obstetrical care, pediatrics, and both clinic and hospital medicine. She is married to Andrew Tew, also a Clarion native, and they have three children. Dr. Tew enjoys scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends. | | | |  | Alex Westenfield, MD, is one of the two Radiologists on staff at Wright Medical Center. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. Dr. Westenfield performed his internship at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and his radiology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North American and the European Society of Radiology. He is also a member of several U.S. and European subspecialty organizations specifically interested in MRI and cardiac imaging. He is also Board Certified with the American Board of Radiology.
In his free time, Dr. Westenfield enjoys golfing and traveling. | | | |  | Melanie Whitehill, PA-C, received her BS in Exercise Science from Iowa State University and her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University in 2005. Prior to joining the Family Practice Clinic, Melanie had over 2 years experience working the ED for two other Iowa facilities. Melanie currently resides in Webster City with her two children Audri and Morgan. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her kids, reading mysteries, hunting and other outdoor activities. | | | |  | Michael J. Whitters, DO, is a 1981 graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, completed his rotating internship at the Davenport Osteopathic Hospital and joined the Clinic in 1982. Dr. Whitters has been on staff at Wright Medical Center for over 26 years. Dr. Mike, as he is fondly called by his patients, is married to Pam who is also employed by WMC. Pam is an Ultrasonographer in the Radiology Department. They have been married for over 35 years and have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Most people don't know that Dr. Mike and Pam met in radiology school. Apparently he was quite smitten with her and has now married her in three different ceremonies. Speaking of ceremonies, Dr. Whitters is also a Deacon with the Catholic Church. Dr. Mike is mult-talented and has been both a rhythm guitarist and a golden glove boxer in high school. He now has a love for jet skiing and going on medical mission trips with his wife. Someday he hopes to retire and spend more time traveling to medically underserved areas with Pam. |
