WMC Billing Process

The billing process begins the day you receive services. Each time you register it is important that you let us know if you carry healthcare insurance and provide us with updated insurance cards. Accurate information will expedite the filing of your claims with your insurance company for payment.

Insured Individuals

Co-pays are due at each clinic visit. Within 4-6 weeks of your visit, you should receive an explanation of benefits (EOB) from your insurance company. Shortly thereafter, you will be receiving a statement from WMC. Please compare the EOB you receive from your insurance company to the "Patient Pay" portion of the statement WMC sent to you. The balance you owe according to your EOB and the balance you owe according to your WMC statement should equal. If they are different, please contact the business office for assistance

At times your insurance company may delay processing your claims for various reasons. While you should receive information from your insurance company regarding the delay, WMC will also inform you of the situation.

Private Pay Patients

Patients whose services will not be filed with insurance are known as "Private Pay" individuals. Payments for services at WMC clinics are due at the time of appointment. For all other services at WMC, "Private Pay" individuals will first receive an itemized bill followed by a monthly statement. These balances are due within 30 days of receiving your statement.

Accident and Injury Claims

These claims are the patient's responsibility, otherwise known as "Private Pay". We will assist you with these claims in any way we can.

WMC understands healthcare bills are typically not expected.

If you are unable to pay your balance within 30 days, WMC is willing to work with you. Please contact us and let us know you cannot pay the entire balance. We will then be able to come to an agreement for payment terms. If you feel you do not have the means to pay for your healthcare bills, WMC has a charity care assistance program. By completing the appropriate paperwork and providing WMC with information regarding your financial situation, you may qualify for a discount on your account. Please contact WMC today for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I able to pay with a credit card?
WMC does accept Discover, Master Card, Visa and American Express.

Will WMC Pre-certify services or do I?
Although there are some services that WMC will pre-certify, it is best for the patient to contact their own insurance for pre-certification.

How many bills will I receive for my visit?
For most visits you will only receive a statement from WMC. Exceptions are if you require the services of a radiologist or surgeon.  These professionals send out billings of their own. Orthopedic surgeons are the only surgeon WMC bills for at this time.

Why didn't my insurance pay more on my claim?
Payment depends on your insurance policy and the type of visit you had that day; if you have questions please contact your insurance company.

Why doesn't the copay I make at my visit show up on my statement?
Your visit to WMC does not show up on the statement while it is pending with insurance. Payment will show on your statement once it has been changed to private pay.
